Left Shortcuts

Use Back Tap for manual entry, or let a Wallet transaction automation save purchases silently.

Apple lets you share regular shortcuts by link, but personal automations must be created on each iPhone. Left cannot install or enable a Wallet automation for you.

Quick manual expense entry.

  1. Open Shortcuts and create a shortcut containing Left's Add Transaction action.
  2. Leave Amount and On what? set to Ask Each Time.
  3. Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap.
  4. Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap, then select the shortcut you created.

Automatic Wallet expenses

No amount or merchant prompts after payment.

  1. In Shortcuts, open Automation, tap +, then choose Transaction.
  2. Select the Wallet card or cards to monitor and choose Run Immediately.
  3. Inside that automation, add Left's Card Expense action. Do not create it as a separate shortcut and do not add Ask for Input.
  4. For Amount, select the transaction input's Amount field.
  5. For Merchant, select the transaction input's Merchant field.
  6. Save the automation. You can disable Shortcuts' own run notification and keep Left's confirmation.

After a valid Wallet transaction, Left saves the purchase to shared storage, assigns its category, and sends a notification with the amount, merchant, category, and date. If saving fails, Left does not report success.
